RESERVA CONCHAL NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE
Encompassing a broad range of ecosystems — including a dry forest, an estuary and a mangrove swamp —is our 98-acre wildlife refuge truly amazing. Home to approximately 32 species of birds, 12 species of mammals, eight species of reptiles and several amphibians, it also includes many different kinds of plants, such as the Guanacaste, the Rain Tree, the Kapok, the Carao and the Guácimo.
The Reserva Conchal National Wildlife Refuge hosts many on-site research programs and environmental education classes throughout the year, such as our “Green Future” wetlands program. This program is popular among groups of schools, colleges and universities from both Costa Rica and around the world.
DID YOU KNOW THAT WE ALSO HAVE AN IN-HOUSE BIOLOGIST?
Allow this expert to give you and your loved ones a special guided tour while pointing out beautiful butterflies, swinging monkeys, exotic birds, ring-tailed coatis, and other native wildlife hiding in the brush!
