RESERVA CONCHAL NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE
Reserva Conchal’s 98-acre national wildlife refuge encompasses a broad range of ecosystems, including tropical dry forest, an estuary and a mangrove swamp. It’s home to 32 species of birds, 12 types of mammals, eight species of reptiles, several amphibians and an amazing range of plants. Among the impressive trees you will see here are the guanacaste, the rain tree, the kapok, the carao and the guácimo.
The Reserva Conchal National Wildlife Refuge hosts many on-site research programs and environmental education classes throughout the year, including our “Green Future” wetlands program, which is popular among university students from Costa Rica and around the world.

NATURE TRAILS & TOURS
Discover a whole new world right on our property. Guests and homeowners of Reserva Conchal can visit the wildlife refuge at any time during their stay. The refuge features a 2-kilometer trail offering nature lovers and wildlife photographers the ideal opportunity to capture the rich natural heritage of Costa Rica. The hike takes about 90 minutes and can be done on your own or with a guide.
Our resort features additional trails outside the refuge that are excellent for guests of any fitness level. Whether you’re looking for a quiet bird-watching hike, an invigorating jog among the trees or a thrilling bike ride, you’ll find the right trail here.
