The genesis of Reserva Conchal was in the mid 80’s, when a group of shareholders got together to invest in tourism in Guanacaste. They were definitely pioneers, coming to the region well ahead of any other developer. By the end of 1992 they had purchased all the land in front of Conchal Beach, 2,300 acres (930 hectares) of privileged property that are now under development.
Since 2007, FIFCO (Florida Ice & Farm Company) has been the only shareholder of the venture and is now the parent company of Reserva Conchal. FIFCO, with its three subsidiaries in beverages, investment funds and real estate, is one of the most important corporations in Central America, playing a leading role in the alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage market. The company manages renowned local and international brands such as Pepsi and Heineken and proudly celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2008.
